Janette is the
daughter of Vance Drye Brooks
and Laura Lee
Kennedy. Vance is the son of James
Elexander Brooks (1865 - 1953). James
is the grandson of David Brooks of Stanly Co, NC and great-grandson of William
Brooks I.
Janette and her
family have lived near the old Brooks homestead all their lives… in Stanly
County.

the right are Janette's grandparents, James Elexander "Jim" Brooks
and Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" Drye.
"Maggie"
is the daughter of Charles Albert Drye and Lydia Adeline Brooks (see picture
below).
