David Brooks was born 1780-90 Anson Co, NC to William Brooks I and his
wife. He lived in Big Lick, Stanly Co,
NC and married a woman named Mary who was also born about 1790-1800. David died about 1842 and Mary is found in
the 1850 census living next door to Andrew Huneycutt.

Thomas Joshua Brooks joined the Confederate Army
and was killed July 24, 1863 from typhoid fever during the Civil war. His wife
and father in law Andrew Honneycutt went to Salisbury and got his body and
buried him in the family cemetery, beside his father and grandfather, William
Brooks.
