This Indenture Made the fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & seventy nine between Henry Hall of the County of Anson and province of North Carolina and John Brooks Jr. of the aforesd place of the other part Witnesseth that the sd Henry Hall for and inconsideration of the sum of one hundred pounds proclamation to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained & sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell unto the sd John Brooks Junr. his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the county aforesd on the So. side of Rocky River on Crebs Creek beginning at a pine near the creek between two white oaks and a hickory pointers and runs So.72 Wt.155 poles to a stake then So.18 Et.155 poles then No.72 Et. 155 poles to the beginning containing in the whole one hundred & fifty acres be the same more or less it being a tract of land granted to the sd. Henry Hall by his Majestys Letter Patent dated 25th of July 1774 To Have and to Hold and also all trees woods and underwoods advantages & appurtenances to the sd tract or parcel of land belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion & reversions remainders rents issues & profits of the sd premises and every part thereof and all the estates rights titles interests claims & demands whatsoever of him the sd Henry Hall of in and to the sd Tract of land and premises and every part thereof unto the sd John Brooks Jr. his heirs & assigns forever and the sd. Henry Hall for himself his heirs the sd tract or parcel of land & premises and every part thereof against them and their heirs to the sd John Brooks Jr. his heirs and assigns and lastly that he the sd Henry Hall upon the reasonable request cost & charges in the law of him the sd John Brooks Jr. his heirs & assigns shall sign seal & deliver any such further or reasonable instruments of writings whatsoever for the better assureing and confirming of the hereby granted premises & appurtenances to the sd John Brooks Jr. his heirs & assigns that shall or may be required and in witness whereof the sd Henry Hall hath hereunto se this hand & seal the day & year first above written
