In obedience to the enclosed Commission to the undersiged Justices directed we caused the witnesses hereinafter named to appear before us at the dwelling house of George H. Honeycuts on the 9 day of March 1850 and did take their deposition to be read in Evidence on the trial of a Cause pending in Anson Cort of Equity wherin Ezekiel Brooks, by his guardian Alexander Brooks is plantiff and Siddy Brooks is defendant all said witnesses being duly Sworn according to Law Faraba Green being first called and Sworn deposeth and Saith as follows…

Ans: I Do I was acquainted some about Six months before he was married

question: Do you or Do you not know that thee said Ezekiel Brooks and your sister Sidey was married upeperwards of twenty five years ago this march (BCBNOTE: married in 1822, apparently in March!)

Question did or Did not they continue to live in peace and friendship and Enjoy them Selves as moch as Common people in a Marriage State for Four or five years until said Ezekiel had a spel of the fever.

Ans: he turnd ?? buy the insurance for he said he has had turn to horses before and he got no Colt

question: State what property Siddy had when her and Ezekiel was married and what money or not

Ans: She had an intrust in fathers Land wich her and Ezekiel after wards Sold for forty Six Dollars. She also had Cows and Calves & yews and a Lamb She had a bead that Cost ten Dollars She had a Cest Cost four Dollars She had a wheel and Chards She had Received Sum farty Dollars before ??? But I do not know how much she then had

Ans: Ibby Elinder Brooks She is dead the second one Ezekiel Monroe Brooks Fourteen years of age now living with his mother
